crypto: lawsuit, ponzi, arrest, $600M hack

1 week of crypto fuckery

Before I start my 30-second news for you guys,

This is literally me right now.

I just don't know which mess to pick up and show it to you first.

This week of crypto is full of lawsuits, ponzis, arrests, and hacks.

Celsius (famous decentralized crypto exchange) sued by an ex-employee...

Here's a 32-page lawsuit in 4 bite-sized news for you:

- Celsius was running a Ponzi Scheme

- Celsius spent $90M to buy their own CEL token to inflate the price

- Celsius lied about their risk management strategies in place

- Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky was arrested...caught trying to flee the country. Btw, Celsius's CFO was arrested in 2021 for money laundering and other charges.

- Celsius' CEO transferred some of the NFT investments they had to his wife

My takeaway: No official announcements have confirmed the rumors...they come from multiple sources but...holy shi*t (!!)

A hacker disguised as a recruiter from North Korea,

Offered a Senior Engineer from Axie Infinity (an NFT-based video game) an offer letter pdf that was actually spyware. The Senior Engineer downloaded the pdf...

Got the spyware on his computer...

Gave hackers access to the Axie Infinity system via spyware,

who instantly drained out $600M, out of which $200M has been cashed out already.

I'm pretty sure this is how Mr. Senior Engineer woulda felt.

They say their Security Systems are worth millions? My ass...

And quite literally my ass is more secure than these systems, just sayin...Read more...

Voyager finally filed for bankruptcy.

Who didn't see this coming?

We even talked about it last week...

Voyager is going under after 3AC (3 Arrow Capital) lost its money in Terra/Luna crash. So Voyager - who loaned $650M to 3AC was actually 60% of their total loans. Read more...

See y'all next week.
